The FANN Cup is the trophy awarded to the winning team of the FANN Cup tornament. The tournament takes place every year around the end of July. It is played by fans of various NLL teams representing their city.
It all started after a pickup lacrosse game in Toronto … over a few pints, a group of Toronto Rock fans decided it would be a good idea to challenge the fans of the Rochester Knighthawks to a friendly game of lacrosse. In a few short weeks, the inaugural FANN Cup was played.
The FANN Cup was named after the MANN Cup, which is awarded to the top Canadian Senior team every summer. September 2009 marked the MANN Cup's 100th year!
