Sutter Pointe,California is a proposed Brand new city in Sutter County approximately 4 miles north of the City of Sacramento, developed by Lennar Communities.Construction on community is planned to start by 2012. [1]

Sutter Pointe history

On June 7, 2007, South Sutter LLC dropped a lawsuit over Sutter Pointe.[2]

The Sutter Pointe plan was approved by Sutter County Board of Supervisors on June 30, 2009 [3]

State officials dispute between Sutter county and Golden State Water over water for Sutter Pointe.[4]

Sutter Pointe plan

Sutter Pointe would be made up of 3 villages on 7,528 acres, It would be self-contained and would accommodate up to 50,000 residents. The community would be built in 5 phases over 20 to 30 years, with everything from a town center to schools within walking distance.

Sutter Pointe schools

The plan calls for a total of 7 new state-of-the-art schools that will include 6 K–8 schools and a community high school.

Parks and open space

The park system would be divided into the following:

  • 96 acres for Regional parks
  • 101 acres for Community.
  • 228 acres for Open space.
  • 160 acres for lakes.
  • 73 acres for Neighborhood parks.

Employment

When the Sutter Pointe plan is completed, the town would have over 20,000 jobs.
