Tiki Taki is the nickname given in Spain to the style of football employed by F.C. Barcelona and the current Spanish national soccer team. It is based on a short passing game and is thought to have originated in the style brought to Barcelona by the great Dutch international player Johann Cruyff, who played for Barcelona in the late 1970s and had a very successful spell as their manager during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The term is not regarded as uncomplimentary but some English fans have derisively referred to the style of play as 'tippy tappy'. However, one of England's most successful clubs, Arsenal, under manager Arsene Wenger, could be said to play a similar style of football.
