Carlos Aponte (born ________, 1986) is a Puerto Rican singer best known for his live performance at America's Got Talent (season 5).[1]

Early Life

Aponte began to let the world know about his passion sense he was at least 3 years-old. Despite there are no musicians in his family, the eldest son of a Puerto Rican father and Costa Rican mother learned from his relatives to appreciate different genres. Some of them: salsa, ballads and rancheras, although it was his grandmother who introduced the opera to Aponte.

Music

As mention before, Aponte began to let the world know about his passion sense he was at least 3 years-old. At the age of twelve, he enter one of Puerto Rico's best music institution, which was "La Libre de Musica". There he began to show interest for opera. Later on, he entered Puerto Rico's "Music Conservatory" where he met the famous opera singer Justino Diaz. Diaz was actually Aponte's conservatory teacher.

The young man has also had professional experience with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Roseline Pabón, and The Bronx Arts Ensemble Orchestra at Hostos Performing Arts Center in New York.

America's Got Talent

In 2010, Aponte auditioned for the famous reality show America's Got Talent. In his participation in the competition, Carlos Aponte was shy and nervous, but then impressed the jury with his booming voice, while the American public, showed their admiration by standing.

His timid appearance playing a theme of Andrea Bocelli reminded the British singer Susan Boyle in the TV program Britain's Got Talent. The woman was a bit lost to be on stage until he opened his mouth and left perplexed at the millions of people who have seen it through the program and through YouTube videos. Till today, Aponte remains more than 3,000 views by day on the most famous video blog, Youtube.
