Snow in Urubici, Santa Catarina.

Snow ocurrs in Brazil occasionally, but virtually every year in the high plains of the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, where there are the coldest cities in the country: São Joaquim, Urubici and São José dos Ausentes, among other cities bordering those, such as Bom Jesus, Urupema, Bom Jardim da Serra and Cambará do Sul. Snow was also registered in other cities, such as Campos do Jordão (Brazil's highest city) and Palmas (the coldest city in the state of Paraná).
