Gerard Ambassa Guy (simplified Chinese: 卓卓/谢雷; traditional Chinese: 卓卓/謝雷; born September 21, 1978 in Cameroon), nicknamed JJ, is a Cameroonian-born Hong Kong footballer. Currently a player of South China and Hong Kong national football team, he played for Happy Valley, Yee Hope, Instant-Dict and Rangers (HKG) in the past.

Career

South China

He joined South China AA in the summer of 2009. In the AFC Cup 2009 semi-final, he scored a crucial away goal against Kuwait SC in stoppage time for South China, the game ended 2:1 to Kuwait SC.

Indonesia

At the beginning of the 2007-08 Hong Kong football season, he failed to show up for Happy Valley and was reported to be joining an Indonesian team, Arema Malang. Assistant to Arema manager M Taufan said that Ambassa had failed to show up after he received Rp 150 million (US$16,129), or 25 percent of his total contract with the team. Arema later received information that Ambassa was still under contract with Hong Kong-based club Happy Valley. Soccer's world governing body FIFA has refused to issue free transfer status for Ambassa, at the request of Happy Valley.[1]

At the beginning of the 2008-09 Hong Kong football season, he failed to show up for Happy Valley and was reported to be joining an Indonesian team, Persija Jakarta.
