Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa is a Disney Vacation Club Resort under development at the Ko Olina Resort & Marina near Kapolei on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Phase 1 is expected to open in August 2011, it will be the third Disney Vacation Club Resort, and the first Disney hotel, located outside of a Disney theme park property. Initially announced in October 2007, Disney unveiled the resort's name in January 2010. Overlooking white-sand beaches, crystal-blue lagoons and a pristine cove surrounded by lush tropical foliage, this Disney Vacation Club Resort is expected to be a premier vacation destination.

Theme:

Walt Disney Imagineers have collaborated with local architects and cultural experts to design and construct what will be an unforgettable experience celebrating the customs and tradition of Hawai`i. Inside and out, simplicity, fine materials and attention-to-detail reflect the layers of refined thinking that characterize Hawaiian art. The resort will be a place where ancient meets modern in a dazzling combination of natural beauty and sophisticated elegance.

Villas

Rooms are designed with lustrous wood and Hawaiian elements — from the geometric patterns inspired by kapa cloth to the high level of craftsmanship you'll encounter at every turn.

Dining

Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawai`i will feature 2 nearby restaurants that will offer cuisine unique to Hawai`i: one with views of the famed sunsets of the Leeward Coast and the other with a buffet-style setting.

Recreation

Discover a nearby feature pool and water play area that blends into the beautiful surrounding topography, with family-friendly tube and body slides that weave through volcanic rock. Adventurous family members can explore the nearby saltwater snorkel lagoon, teeming with tropical fish and other marine life. Children will also love the signature Disney kids' club which features custom-planned activities and adventures.

Water Play Area & Pools

The one-of-a-kind water play area merges seamlessly through volcanic rock—a guaranteed splash! The nearby wading pool is a great alternative to the vast fun pool and provides a safe option for parents with toddlers. Guests can also snorkel in the saltwater lagoon, home to countless breeds of tropical sea life.

Marina

The lively marina hosts a multitude of dining, entertainment and shopping hotspots for travelers staying at the Resort.

Purchase/Reservations

The resort began timeshare sales in July 2010, and expects to begin taking room reservations in August 2010.[1][2]
