Me

I used to have another name, but I gave up and changed it after my account was hacked.

I used to have another name, but I gave up and changed it after my account was hacked after 5 months. I got some malware, several spy bots, a few tracking cookies and a commercial popup. My securaty center alerted me, so I asumed my old account was hacked and no longer had pass word securaty, so I created this one to replace it. See Archived past lives for details.

Spindryers!

I just logged on and guess what I found- a damed corporate pop up for a firm selling laundry spin dryers and tumble dryers!--Its snowing in East Asia (talk) 02:15, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. First of all, good job overall with creating the timely article. However, I just thought I'd bring up a few issues. Usually, in articles about weather events, the year goes first in the title. When you do external linking, make sure you surround the link using one set of brackets ([]), not double brackets ([[]]), which produces an internal link. Also, it's a good idea to include the title in a link, like this, but it's even better to use cite tags in the article's references. You can do this easily by installing RefToolbar by going to your Preferences and checking the box in the "gadgets" section. Hopefully some of these weather stories can go on ITN rather roon, but it may be a good idea to spilt the article into areas that were more severely affected by the heat wave once it gets more developed, similar to the 2003 European heat wave article. Thanks. ~AH1(TCU) 16:53, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Moving a page

Hi. Next time when you move an article to a new title, be sure to click on the "move" tab and do not simply copy and paste the contents of one article into the new title, because the original edit history needs to be preserved. Also, have you included all the original information and references from the July 2010 North American heatwave article in the new page you redirected it to? Finally, please make sure you move the article first before the redirect is made, and check for any double redirects. Thanks. ~AH1(TCU) 00:53, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did not lose data. All links were kept.--Its snowing in East Asia (talk) 02:27, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on PIGS (economics), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Not a dictionary of slang terms

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.18.192.27 (talk) 16:26, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Image file formats

Per WP:IUP#FORMAT, please don't convert photographs to PNG format before uploading - the loss of quality is noticeable compared to leaving it as a JPEG. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:09, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
