Morgantown Mall is a 557,954 square-foot regional shopping mall in Morgantown, West Virginia, home to West Virginia University. The mall features anchors Carmike Cinemas, Elder-Beerman, JCPenney, Sears, and Belk, along with some 80 specialty stores like American Eagle Outfitters, Forever 21, Finish Line, Bath & Body Works, New York & Company, JB Robinson Jewelers, Victoria’s Secret, and Hollister.
History Plans for the mall were announced in 1987 by Glimcher Realty Trust and site work began later that year. Morgantown Mall opened on September 13, 1990, as the only mall in the area. The mall opened with 4 anchor stores, Elder-Beerman, JCPenney, Sears, and K-Mart, all of which are still open at the mall today.
Morgantown Mall is ideally situated in Morgantown at the intersection of State Route 19 and I-79, which is a major north/south artery that carries over 47,000 vehicles per day. Serving an area that encompasses almost 370 square miles, Morgantown Mall is also within easy traveling distance of Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as well as Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio.
Restaurants The quick service restaurants in the food court include Auntie Anne’s, Chick-fil-a, Fuji Grill, Gloria Jeans Coffee, Just Desserts, Sbarro, Subway, T&L Hot Dogs, and Wong’s Wok. Dine in restaurant Garfield’s is located elsewhere in the mall.
