Jim Chappell is an American smooth jazz pianist.

Chappell was born and raised in Michigan. He traveled widely in the United States as a young adult before relocating to Nashville, pursuing a career as a songwriter. He reconsidered soon after, and moved to California, where he accompanied the UCLA modern dance department. He released debut album, Tender Ritual, by himself in 1986 and sold more than 12,000 copies of it through self-promotion and touring.[1] He scored a string of successful albums on the New Age music charts in the U.S. from 1989 to 1994.

Chappell's music also reached other continents as SouthEast Asia and especially made a mark in the Philippines Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page).
