Question re: warning on Nicole Polizzi

Is this how you leave a message? I came on wikipedia and you left me a message about Nicole Polizzi? I wasn't me, I'm so confused, I have no idea what's going on! It says something about a shared IP, more than one person uses this computer —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.228.42.237 (talk) 19:41, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As an IP address can be assigned dynamically, you might find warnings on the talkpage. If you did not make that edit you can disregard the warning. To avoid this kind of thing, perhaps consider to create an user-account. (See WP:Account). Jarkeld (talk) 23:50, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Dear friend Thanks lot for your information and suggestion. --Wipeouting (talk) 05:05, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jarkeld

I needed to get back to you about having my login name adjusted.

I keep an eye on a Wiki entry for iS3, the company I work for. I have been tasked with monitoring the presence of our flagship product STOPzilla on the site, and making sure that the listing is factual, and neutral.

I was instructed to let an editor know whenever things needed to be changed. I think at this point I need some help.

There is an user/editor FleetCommand, who has been doing an ok job of stopping vandalism, but has also been making some edits, that are either misspelled, or unnecessary.

There was one issue with his spelling of thrice as trice (and that got sorted out), but now he lists that STOPzilla has "but has not received CESG Claims Tested Mark."

I understand that remaining neutral is important, so I reviewed all of the other software listings that were in the same category, and none of them listed that they have not received such a certification.

Can you please look into the issue and attempt to remedy it in a neutral manner. I don't see that it is necessary to list certifications that have never been applied for, and it seems that this would be only listed in order to try to cast a negative light on the product.

Thanks Is3-stopzilla (talk) 20:43, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Now, this is very interesting, Jarkeld. You went ahead and warned 209.255.158.50 for the aforementioned vandalism, oblivious to the fact the he and Is3-stopzilla (talk · contribs) are actually the same people. Let me tell you a funny thing too: This misspelling of "thrice" is about the number of times that STOPzilla received certificate. But amongst the sabotage record of 209.255.158.50 you'll find that he once reduced it to "twice" while the source stated three cases. If 209.255.158.50 and Is3-stopzilla are same people, (which they probably are), then I think you must ask yourself: "How comes an iS3 employee tasked to watch these material doesn't even know how many times its product is certified?" Either iS3 has chosen a very incompetent employee for this topic to watch or otherwise this guy is not what he asserts to be. Fleet Command (talk) 15:42, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I warned him on the ip because it was painfully obvious that they are the same. I don't have much time right now, will try to address this matter more fully tonight. Jarkeld (talk) 16:59, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I did not warn about vandalism, I warned about possible COI editing. As I stated before I'm aware of the fact that the IP and user are most likely the same person. I did not check the thrice statement. I only looked at the statement that they did not have a certificate from CESG. As this was unreferenced I removed it. (Btw: the link to that user is Jim Kirkpatrick (talk · contribs). The old account was renamed, but he hasn't updated the signature.) I won't speculate on the employee status of the editor. All I know is that he has a COI and should not make direct edits to the page unless it is blatant vandalism. Jarkeld (talk) 21:03, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Just found out he logged in again under the old name. Gave a notice about it. Jarkeld (talk) 21:08, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your 3rd opinion in Stopzilla

Hi, Jarkeld. I read your edit summary in Stopzilla and found it compelling. That was logical. Thank you. Fleet Command (talk) 06:17, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stopzilla

Let's keep this professional Fleet Command. I was having trouble understanding the meaning of your misspelling of the word thrice, and I am sure that you are aware as an editor that spell checking of your entries is pretty important.

I was instructed to posted the new mention of the WestCoast certificate on our site on the 10th of August http://www.stopzilla.com/products/stopzilla/press.do, and was trying to keep the posting on our site up to date with the Wiki entry.

Am I to understand that it is not "Neutral" to fix mistakes that editors have made on the entry, I have been working with Floquenbeam to handle edits in the past, but due to his Semi-retired nature. Have looked to you an new editor to help.

I would also like to ask your advice. As I look at our competitors entries, they are much more verbose, and provide a lot more information about their products. Would I submit an entry to an editor like yourself to review for neutrality and use to update the current entry?

We want the listing to be being neutral and factual, it's libelous statements, and lies that we are trying to avoid. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.255.158.50 (talk) 18:22, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is3-stopzilla (talk) 16:01, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you:
1) change your signature to reflect the name change
2) post the text you want while logged in, not as an IP
3) refrain from editing the page yourself (logged in or as IP) unless it is an unequivocal case of vandalism
If you agree to these terms I'm willing to check the text you want and post it for you. (not on my main talk. I'll make a subpage for that when you agree. Jarkeld (talk) 20:49, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jarkeld,

I agree, and will follow those guidelines. We will be working on our neutral, factual entry for your review. In the meantime, should I just make a different account to use, or do I need to have this one renamed. If I need to have it renamed, can you help me along in the process.

Also, since Fleetcommand completely re-wrote the STOPzilla entry, can the Neutrality tag be removed. He deleted more than half of the content that described what the product did, as well as how it was received by the reviewers. So at this point...it's well...His point of view.

Thanks

What is your idea about this article ? is this suitable to exist ? because i was deleted article and not improved . user User:Xymmax mention that Renomination is likely if it doesn't improves significantly.--Wipeouting (talk) 16:56, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, since the last AfD was closed there hasn't been any user edits to the article. I read the sources and the two AfD's and I think the article fails WP:GNG and WP:MUSICBIO. As such a new AfD could be started. No idea if enough people will chime in. Last time there weren't many people participating. Jarkeld (talk)
