Zoosk is a social networking and online dating website with third-party applications on several social networking services. Zoosk is based in San Francisco, CA[1].
Zoosk is a subscription-based dating service, but non-paying members can post a profile and browse other profiles for free. Non-paying members can also pay for some services with virtual currency.[2]
History
The company was started in December 2007 by Alex Mehr and Shayan Zadeh, initially as a third-party dating application on Facebook[3]. In May, 2010 grammy award winning recording artist T-Pain and Flo Rida released a song inspired by Zoosk entitled "Zoosk Girl".
Features
Zoosk users can access the service on Zoosk's main website or use its third-party application on their Facebook, Bebo, Hi5, Tagged, or Myspace social networking platforms.[4] Zoosk also offers a Mobile phone version.[5]
