The Sydney Autumn Carnival is a major Australian thoroughbred racing series held in Sydney in March and April each year. It consists of two consecutive festivals organised by the city's two primary racing clubs: the Golden Slipper Festival, held by the Sydney Turf Club at Rosehill Gardens, and the Royal Randwick Autumn Racing Carnival, held by the Australian Jockey Club at Royal Randwick. The most important races include the Golden Slipper Stakes, the world's richest race for two-year-old horses,[1] the Australian Derby and the Sydney Cup.[2][3]
