David Harding is a British entrepreneur, notable as a leading hedge fund manager having founded AHL and Winton Capital Management, the third largest hedge fund in Europe.[1] In his effort to promote public understanding of risk, he has funded the Winton Professorship of the Public Understanding of Risk at Cambridge University, the first (and current) Professor being David Spiegelhalter.[2] The hedge fund he manages, Winton Capital, has $16Bn under management. Having sold 10% of Winton Capital to Goldman Sachs in 2007, his estimated personal wealth of £430m puts him at number 158 on the Sunday Times Rich List 2010.[3]
