Linderman/Corinthian Online Games

[edit]

Blackjack requires a score of 360,000 credits or more. I currently have a score of 3,700,000 credits in video poker and I haven't come across an invite to the Titan Club through that. But it may be because previously I rejected an invite to the Titan Club after gaining enough credits. Has anyone heard of people being invited through Video Poker or Slots? It's hard to gain points in slots, I'm guessing 3,600 points might be enough, but then again my theory that 3,600,000 points in poker was enough doesn't seem to be working either. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kdnewton (talkcontribs) 08:31, 21 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I got the invite after gettong 360,000 credits on video poker, so it must be the initial refusal that's keeping it from coming up. Xinpheld 15:02, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't reached that many credits at all, but is the 360,000 pure speculation? If so it should be removed. (Mrja84 15:54, 16 March 2007 (UTC))[reply]
It's not speculation - the 360,000 cred mark activated an invite to the 'Titan Club', and afterward the members are sent a passcode to see some photos listed in an archive on the site, one of which is of the much-sought-after sword, as well as of the painting done by Isaac of Nathan standing in the Oval Office. Potential Use of Steganography

[edit]

I spent the last few hours looking in to steganography. I was scanning the various jpegs from the Primatech website as well as from Hana's blog and the Corinthian site as well. It should be noted that stegdetect (the program I used to scan the jpegs) has been known to occasionally give false positives. The (false?) positives are output by stegdetect with jphide and I'm not sure what the proceeding asterix represent. jphide is the potential method used to encode the hidden message inside the jpeg and is potentially decodable using jpseek. Another note, after "second opinioning" the potential positives using jpseek and StegSpy, they do not come up with positive results. jpseek claims the jpeg has not been modified and StegSpy reports there is no steg in the image. So with that in mind, of the stegdetect scans this is what I came up with:

$ ./stegdetect corinthian/*.jpg

corinthian/about_photo1.jpg : jphide(**)

corinthian/about_ptechlogo.jpg : jphide(***) (this is from the primatech about page)

Recent change by Fmmarianicolon (prose form)

[edit]

I hate to see the effort of another Wikipedian go away. Trust me I know how you would feel. But I find the old version much more consice and convey the same, if not more, content. The new version has 2,977 additional characters. Now that channel of participation is gone. Bullet pointed events is much clearer... --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 00:59, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do agree that this version is longer. The reason I edited it into prose was so that this article (and other Heroes articles hopefully) could undergo a peer review and good article nomination at the end of the season. I tried to write so it read like story arcs. My inspiration was Lost Experience. However, looking back I do agree that the previous version had more information, particularly on participation platforms. I also concur and was slightly easier to read due to its list format. However, some parts of the older version felt slightly disorganized in their list format.
I am by no means against adding information from the previous version into this version, or reverting to the previous version and organizing it better. Writing efforts by editors give way to efforts by other editors; I don't mind my writing not existing a week later as long as we're all working towards consensus and article improvement for the goal of GA/FA. The question is what improvements can we make (either to the list or prose version)? - fmmarianicolon | Talk 02:00, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I do agree that the previous version is a bit disorganized, reads like a random depository from random editors. But I do get the info quickly. Often times, a "list format" and "good writing" are two incompatible ideas. Coming from a engineering background, I personally prefer a list format. Perhaps we can work something out. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 02:38, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I also agree that the list format is somewhat disorganized. However, having bullet points for each section breaks down the information for easier initial consumption, which may be important while the program is still active - with so much going on in so many different places, the ability to see items individualy may leave open the chance of making connections between areas that would otherwise be separated by dense paragraphs. While I realize that we're not trying to solve a crime here or anything, I'd like to see the page leave room for the producers of the 'game' to go as deep with the mystery as I'm sure we'd all hope they would. Secrets are fun, after all.
Perhaps once the season is over, (if and) when all info has been published and the mystery solved, the whole lot could be converted to the prose format for more satisying consumption. Just a thought.
Xinpheld 12:14, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have reverted the article to Navex's version, the old version mentioned above. If we decide to go with prose after the storyline concludes, I've moved the content of the prose version to User:Fmmarianicolon/storage space to use as a base. We'd just have to add the new information and improve it. - fmmarianicolon | Talk 18:54, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with putting it in prose, but it would be alot better to just wait until after the game ends. dposse 18:40, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Puzzles

It would be nice to see how the puzzle solutions were worked out, rather than purely the solution. Fylar 01:55, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hiro's binary puzzle

[edit]

Has anyone solved the puzzle? Here's what I found. There are only sixteen different bytes which in decimal are 66, 68, 70, 72, 74, 77, 79, 83, 87, 93, 97, 108, 111, 117, 132, and 134. The pattern they are shown in is as follows: ABACDEDFGBGCHEHFIBICDFICDBDJICDJDKDJLELFLKMJMEMFGCGFAEANGFANOPGNDJDPGPIFMJGFAPGPOKABIFMKANOE MKMBAKOKMBLBGKAKLBHKGFAJGPMEOBOCHKHBDPIPHBOEIPIEGNOCIEDEOEANOKIBANHNDEDCOCGNIBOKMELEDCDKLEHE. Since there are 8 * 23 bytes, perhaps they are meant to be viewed in 8-byte sections.— Daniel 19:54, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Someone (not me) solved it. It's written in Spanish, but after babelfishing it, the answer is the chess game which says DL. — Daniel 14:54, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Someone at 9thWonder forums solved it. I updated the article with the infomation. dposse 18:39, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Muggles

[edit]

I've seen a joke page put up by NBC which is supposed to be a Primatech file on Mr. Muggles, but you can't get there from the Primatech website. If I can find the link again, I think it should be added somewhere on this page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.113.186.64 (talk) 20:49, 9 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Look at the URL again. It was not created by NBC and it has nothing to do with the Experience. It was fancreated on a free hosting service. dposse 22:21, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

During season hiatus?

[edit]

Does anyone have any info on wether H360 will be updated during the summer? And if I asked a stupid question, please have mercy and answer it without any comments on its stupidity.--65.188.7.188 22:21, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Yamagato Fellowship seems to have a series of videos that I don't remember seeing before. So I'd say, probably a little. Though they're not all available yet.
Yes, the Yamagato Fellowship had a series of video clips. Also, Activating Evolution updated its site. Check out the fan created sites to keep updated with this. Sstrieu 07:49, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name change? / Merge

[edit]

On the official website, I can't find any reference anymore to Heroes 360. It appears to be called "Heroes Evolutions." Should we change the name of this page? Novastarj 13:18, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the new title of the digital extension for Heroes is Heroes Evolutions. As it happens, Wikipedia already has an article with that title, which deals with the exact same topic. Actually, before my recent edits to the intro of that page, the intro and the first section there were identical to their homologues within this article. Thus, not only is a name change in order, but an actual merge of the two articles under the most up-to-date title of Heroes Evolution should take place. ~ Homologeo 07:24, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The intros and sections entitled "Channels of participation" within these two articles are now once again identical. Furthermore, these are the only two section within the Heroes Evolutions article. There is no reason to keep so much duplicated material. Likewise, since removal of duplicated material will lead to the deletion of one of these articles, let's do this merge and keep the remaining text under the most up-to-date title, which is Heroes Evolutions. Does anyone oppose this course of action? ~ Homologeo 10:15, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please separate into 2 different categories to avoid confusion

[edit]

To avoid confusion and to tell between the first season and the second BYMAstudent 13:17, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure, but are you, by any chance, referring to the merge discussion? Would you like to keep the two articles separate? If so, how would you like for us to account for the duplicated text within the intro and the first section of each article and the fact that this is all there currently is within the Heroes Evolutions article? Furthermore, if this is the same digital extension of Heroes, why is there a need to distinguish between seasons? Sorry if I misinterpreted your statement above. If I misunderstood, please feel free to ignore my inquiries. ~ Homologeo 10:19, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Micah's last note on at the Corinthian Casino website

Where do you apply it? I'm assuming it's akin with Bennet's files of Gitelman, Gray, Parkman and Sprague, but where do I enter the username and password? i want to find out about Drucker! Therequiembellishere (talk) 00:48, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
