Teddington School is a co-educational comprehensive school, designated as a specialist Visual Arts College. The school has over 1,100 pupils in the age range 11-16 and is on a large site close to the River Thames opposite Trowlock Island.

History

The school opened in 1962 as Broom Road School, which was originally a single-sex school, taking over the senior boys of Stanley Road School when it ceased to cater for the full age-range.[1]

The school was completely rebuilt in 2010, with the new buildings opening in September 2010.

Houses

There are 4 houses which have been made corresponding to the final letter of each form group's name. AS and BS form groups are a part of Stuart House, AT and BT form groups are a part of Tudor House, AW and BW form groups are a part of Windsor House, and AY and BY form groups are a part of York House. The house system was first used in the 2008/2009 academic year.
