Dinakaran is a Tamil daily newspaper distributed in India. Founded by K. P. Kandasamy (Tamil: கே. பி. கந்தசாமி) in support of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) when his father-in-law, S. P. Adithanar founder of Daily_Thanthi, chose to support Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam during its split from DMK and later accuired by SUN Network Kalanithi Maran. In daily basis it is circulating 12 lakh 35 thousand 220 copies as per Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC Report).[citation needed] Dinakaran published from 12 centres all over India. Namely, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Salem, Nagercoil, Vellore, Nellai, Pondicherry.

Dinakaran is the first Tamil daily newspaper running from Delhi and Mumbai.[citation needed] Recently[when?] it holds a record of first Tamil newspaper to cross 12 million copies. [citation needed]

Dinakaran also giving importance to Astrology, as it is publishing Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly Astrology in its Newspaper.
