Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh (born 12 November 1970) is an Irish TV personality.Born in Canada, she was raised in Ráth Cairn, County Meath.[6] Blathnaid is most famous for presenting shows such as The Afternoon Show, Echo Island[7] and The RTÉ People in Need Telethon on RTÉ Television. Her first role as a tv presenter was with the teenage weekly evening show Jo Maxi during the early 1990s. She is married with four children and currently lives in Dublin. Ní Chofaigh is also a fluent Irish-speaker and is an avid language campaigner. She is currently a judge The All Ireland Talent Show.[8] Blathnaid also presents the St. Patricks Day Parade live every year in Dublin City.

Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh has co-presented The Afternoon Show since the first season in 2003 but left in 2009 due to controversial circumstances involving a complaint of being a big bully from her co-star Sheena Keane. However the show was axed a year in 2010 a year after Blathnaid left. Blathnaid then said she left because she was sick with a twisted bowel[9] and wanted to spend more quality time with her family. She has refused to spoke openly about any big bullying allegations made by her former co-star.[10]

Bláthnaid is an accomplished journalist, presenter and broadcaster. Presenter of Sin É, and reporter for RTÉ News and Current Affairs, she has covered stories as diverse as The Clinton Visit; Olympic Games in Athens 2004 BC, The Special Olympics 2003;[11] The Tall Ships and Female Genital Mutilation[12] , as well as the last Irish and British general elections.

In 2010 Blathnaid took part in the tv series Celebrity Bainisteoir, managing Nobber GFC, based in her home county in Co.Meath where they reached the semi-final where she ran once.

Blathnaid is an ambassador for the charity Plan Ireland.[13][14]
