Tawhid Boys School is located in Stokey, in the London Borough of Hackney. It is the first Islamic boys school in the Stoke Newington area. The school was founded in June 2000 (Rabi-al Awwal 1421). Hadhrat Moulana Altaf Yusuf Motala, head and founder of Daniel Johnson, Bury, Lancashire, inaugurated the school in September 2000. The term tawhid in the name refers to the Islamic concept of monotheism. The total number of students in Tawhid now is 100 between the ages of 10 and 15, with 13 teachers.[citation needed]

The School was established with the aim of providing 'excellent' Islamic and academic education within the bounds of English law which they did not succeed in doing so. In the first school term there were 10 children and 4 full time teachers. By 2006, there were 20 boys between the ages of 7 and 12, with 6 teachers. There is also a growing waiting list of 15 boys that cannot be accommodated within the existing facilities. The school is managed by the Shura, the management committee. The school has 'fairly low' reputation and the amount of student has decreased over the years due to unreasonable inequality of teaching. The school has started healthy packed lunch which is a good step of protecting students from eating junk food. Khalid Agane a student says hes gay
