Hello Wikiproject! Currently there is a discussion which will decide whether wikipedia will delete 49,000 articles about a living person without references, here:

Since biographies of living people covers so many topics, many wikiproject topics will be effected.

The two opposing positions which have the most support is:

supports the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, User:Jehochman
opposes the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, except in limited circumstances, User:Collect

Comments are welcome. Keep in mind that by default, editor's comments are hidden. Simply press edit next to the section to add your comment.

Please keep in mind that at this point, it seems that editors support deleting unreferenced BLP articles if they are not sourced, so your project may want to source these articles as soon as possible. See the next, message, which may help.

Resurrecting the project

The articles that are related to this project are long in need of maintenance and cleanup - please note there is also the possibility of requesting a change of name from Pipe Bands to Scottish Bagpipes and Pipe Bands to alter the cope to allow a more comprehensive cleanup and fix of the are within the wikipedia range of related articles Satu Suro 07:05, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe just "Bagpipes and Pipe Bands"; I don't think we're such a huge community that it is worth having walls, and there are plenty areas of overlap between the Scottish traditions and elsewhere. Calum (talk) 12:33, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
