I'm incredibly busy this week and won't be on here much 'til after New Year's Day.

Actor vs actress

Regarding this edit, I just thought I'd point out that actor is gender neutral; it refers to both males and females so there's really no need to change actor to actress. Actress is actually a redirect to Actor. --AussieLegend (talk) 03:26, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

While it's true, I can't find another Wikipedia page that calls a female an actor. Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep, Cameron Diaz, Angelina Jolie, and Catherine Deneuve are all "actresses" so let's be consistent. DC 05:18, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've generally found that the problem is editors not realising that actor is gender neutral. Consistency is fine but we don't need to follow the sheep. --AussieLegend (talk) 05:30, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well I'll revisit my position once the Academy changes their award for Academy Award for Best Actress to a gender-neutral term. DC 05:35, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
