pCon.planner is a software for the 2D/3D planning and visualization of rooms and interiors. The application is developed by the EasternGraphics GmbH in Ilmenau (Thuringia/Germany) and is offered free of charge as well as a version with costs.

History

In 1998 the German Association of Office, Seating and Object Furniture (BSO) commissioned EasternGraphics to develop the OFML (Office Furniture Modeling Language) data specification. The goal was to design a consistent description format for products that are characterized by a high variety. During that time the basis for today's pCon.planner was established. The developed planning application was the first which was able to process OFML data.

In the following years the pCon.planner versions 4 (February 2004 - February 2007) and 5 (from February 2007 until today) were developed. In 2008, parallel to the work on pCon.planner 5, the company started with the re-implementation of the planning system whereas new basic technologies were used. The resulting application is characterized by innovative concepts.

In October 2008, the first beta version of pCon.planner 6.0 was introduced to the customers at the Orgatec in Cologne. A few weeks later EasternGraphics offered pCon.planner 6 as freeware in the Web.

Scope of application

pCon.planner 6 is seen as a process-oriented application for space and interior planning. Users can draw rooms and fill them with 3D objects and materials which they can directly download from online catalogs. In addition, the application offers various possibilities for presenting plannings and scenes, such as the creation of films or images in a photo-realistic quality.
