Hazelwood is located just over 2 miles outside the town of Sligo in northwest Ireland, in the parish of Calry. It is the location for Yeats The Song of Wandering Aengus. The wood is beside Lough Gill, which contains Yeats' Lake Isle of Innisfree. The wood is popular among tourists for its scenic walks and for the fishing on Lough Gill.Hazelwood is also home of Hazelwood House,a 400 year old Georgian mansion(formerly occupied by the Wynne family. To the south of that the abandoned remains of the former Korean factory Saehan Media Ireland.To the north of Hazelwoood lyes Hazelwood Avenue (the residential area of the Hazelwood peninsula).The Garavogue river flows from the west down to the south and into Lough Gill.
