Biography

Viviana Sofronitsky - Russian-Canadian pianist, was born in Moscow, in the family of distinguished Russian, Soviet pianist Vladimir Sofronitsky. Viviana received Doctorate degree from the Moscow Conservatory

She worked with both leading Early Music groups, “Madrigal” and the “Chamber Music Academy”, guided by Alexei Lubimov. At the same time was giving solo concerts throughout the former USSR, including Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, Minsk, Sverdlovsk etc.

In 1989 moved to USA, in Oberlin College she studied ancient music

In 1990 she moved to Canada, where she was actively touring and recording in the studio She performed with many musicians from the Toronto “Tafelmusik” orchestra”.

In 1999 Viviana Sofronitski received historical fortepiano and harpsichord performance degrees from the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag.

Viviana Sofronitzki has been a Canadian citizen since 1994.

Since 2001 she lives in the Czech Republic.

Married. Husband is Paul McNulty is the famous in the world manufacturer and restorer of historical fortepianos. Viviana performs only with a unique fortepianos by Paul McNulty Paul McNulty J.A.Stein ca 1788, Walter 1782 , C.Graf 1819, op 318, J.Pleyel.
