Herman Reid, Jr., better known as J. R. Reid (born March 31, 1968 in Virginia Beach, Virginia), is a retired American professional basketball player for several NBA teams.

The 6'9", 247-pound (2.06 m, 112 kg) Reid,who was the #1 prep player and also one of the most hyped after starring at Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach, played college basketball at North Carolina.

He competed to become an analyst on the former ESPN TV show Dream Job, but lost.
