Shane Francis Seamus O'Mara (born December 18th, 1982 in Buffalo, NY, is a American rower. He was educated at The Gunnery School, Northeastern and then at Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge where he stroked the Blue boat, falling ill to heart problems two days before the 2008 race.

He participated at several World Championships, including Eton and Gifu. While also participating in two World Cups.

O'Mara currently holds all junior records in the single sculls for the United States and was awarded 6 National Championships.

From 2007 to 2010 O'Mara studied at the University of Cambridge. He completed degrees in Economics. He rowed in the losing Blue Boat with the 2008 Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race crew and was withdrawn days before the race. The boat was altered to include Ryan Monoghan in the closing moments of the race while O'Mara was in hospital.
