Aslı Bayram (born April 1, 1981) is a German actress and model of Turkish descent, who is best known for being Miss Germany in 2005.[1]


Biography

In 2005 she became the first Miss Germany with Turkish roots and hence attended the Miss Universe contest in Bangkok.

Aslı Bayram completed actors training with Eric Morris, Los Angeles, and Anne Mertin, Vienna.

The first international film she acted was Jump! with Patrick Swayze. Ensuing, she appeared in a very prominent role in the black comedy Shortcut to Hollywood, shot in USA and successfully presented at the Berlinale Film Festival 2009.

In October 2007, Aslı Bayram premiered with great success in the solo theater performance Anne Frank: The Diary at the Théatre de la Ville D’Esch in Luxembourg. An invitation at the theatre festival of Germany language in Prague followed, and afterwards the German premiere in Frankfurt/ Main. Buddy Elias, Anne Frank’s cousin, complimented Aslı Bayram on this project. In 20008/2009 she did a tour with the English version in Canada and the USA. She finished this project on the occasion of the commemoration of Anne Frank’s 80th birthday with three performances at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, Hollywood.

THE TIMES wrote about her performance in “Anne Frank: The Diary”:

“One of Germanys most convincing and subtle actresses”. [2]

She wrote a book, Grenzgängerin. Leben zwischen den Welten (Border Crosser) which was published 2009 by Random House and is very successfully on book market.

2009 the films 180°, Switzerland, and Sevdah za Karima, Bosnia, (English title: Sevdah for Karim) were shot. For both roles there was no synchronization necessary. Aslı Bayram acted in the national languages, Switzerland and Bosnian. Both films attended several International Film Festivals, like Zurich, Sarajevo, Pec´, Antalya, Goteborg, Rotterdam, Berlin.

“Heartbreaking portrait of a young woman” wrote HOLLYWOOD REPORTER about her performance in the film “180”. [3]

In September 2010 her prominent book Grenzgängerin. Leben zwischen den Welten achieved the recording into Guinness World Records for the number of most people in a public reading relay.

Aslı Bayram is socially committed and set public stand against racism and xenophobia. Since 2010 Aslı Bayram is appointed honorable Ambassador for Crime Prevention by the Justice Ministry Hessen, Germany. Besides she covers the honorary Patronage for the Riehl-School with many children from immigrant backgrounds, in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Since 2011 Aslı Bayram performs the female leading role in a brand new Turkish TV Serial, Sirat [4], a Star TV Production.
