Draymond Green is an American college basketball player at Michigan State University. He plays the forward position. Green is known for his high basketball IQ and passing skills at the forward position.

High School

In high school, Green led the Saginaw Trojans to two state championships. During his high school career, he averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots a game. His senior season, his high school team recorded a 27-1 record and was ranked number 4 in the USA Today national high school rankings. [1] Coming out of high school, he was recruited by the Michigan Wolverines, Kentucky Wildcats, Michigan State Spartans, and Indiana Hoosiers.[2]

College

Originally committed to the Kentucky Wildcats, Green eventually decided to play for Tom Izzo and the Spartans. His freshman year, he spent most of his time on the bench for the Spartans averaging 3.3 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game. During his sophomore year, he would win the Big Ten sixth man of the year award averaging 9.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.[3] During his Junior year at MSU, Green averaged 12.6 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game.[4] On February 10th, Green became the third Michigan State player to record a triple-double to only Charlie Bell and Magic Johnson. [5] In the 2011 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament he recorded his second triple-double of the season and the seventh in NCAA tournament history in the loss against UCLA.[6]
