Spaarndam

Hi Guus
Great job you are doing on Haarlem. I would like to draw attention to something Eugene van der Pijll, Patrick and I are trying to do regarding Dutch municipalities. We try to gather all underlying towns, villages etc. under the municipality-article. So there would never be a need for a link to Spaarndam. Please see as an example Terneuzen. Could you agree with this approach? Pethan 08:16, 29 Aug 2004 (UTC)

 • Hi Pethan. Thanks, I enjoy researching and writing about Haarlem. I have no preference in the municipality-structuring; your proposal is fine with me, so I will remove the Spaarndam link in Haarlem and Spaarne and add a section to Haarlem. Guus 09:05, Aug 29, 2004 (UTC)

Southeast Asia Imperial and Royal League

Hi. Are you going to restore the text of Southeast Asia Imperial and Royal League or should it be deleted as a blank article? - Tεxτurε 22:02, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)

 • Hi Texture; I'm not sure what to do -- user Tran Van Ba (the original author) had blanked the page, so I thought he acknowledged it was indeed a copy-vio. I would prefer to wait and see if Tran Van Ba will restore the contents in a few days, instead of reverting back to a version that might or might not be a copyvio.

VFD vote for Sim Tycoon Hunter

Hello, I noticed you added a vote to the vfd listing for Sim Hunter Tycoon but didn't sign it. Since you've been around on vfd before, I assume you just forgot? - RedWordSmith 17:14, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Dates

Please don't write dates in the form March 23rd, 2004. The programming has an automatic feature that converts dates into the user's preference of March 23, 2004; 23 March 2004; 2004-03-23 or 2004 March 23. But this only works if the dates are linked as 23 March 2004 or March 23, 2004; 2004-03-23 or 2004 March 23 Date with endings like "rd" and "th" don't convert. Rmhermen 16:21, Sep 30, 2004 (UTC)

 • Hi Rmhermen, thanks for the advice. I will keep it in mind and convert the dates in existing articles I wrote.

William of Orange

Hi Guus, I was still working on that article, that's why I kept it in my sandbox. I'd rather not put it "live" until it's finished, but it's not a big issue. Jeronimo 12:39, 2 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Misunderstood you before (I should actually READ a comment). I don't mind your addition at all, bedankt! Jeronimo 17:24, 2 Oct 2004 (UTC)

ticker-tape parade

Thanks for your kind email regarding the ticker-tape parade article. I very much appreciated what you said. I'm sorry I took so long to reply. I am just catching up after a long road trip across the U.S. Best wishes. -- Decumanus 00:24, 2004 Nov 4 (UTC)

Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
