Rollback (add request)

User:Mactrac

I would like to start helping out with the vandalism i sometimes see around some pages, if you could give me this feature i would try to help out, or if you could give me advice to be able to help out without the feature would help too ^_^ Mactrac (talk) 02:37, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Rollback is usually granted to editors who've shown an interest in reverting vandalism. There are some subtleties in its use, (see the linked page and WP:ROLLBACK if you haven't already) so some experience in manually reverting vandalism is recommended. The best way to show that you know when rollback can be used is to first use the almost identical version that's packaged with Twinkle, a set of JavaScript functions you can activate at Special:Preferences#preftab-9.  Not done for now (template for archival purposes.) Feezo (send a signal | watch the sky) 00:59, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am a pending changes reviewer.I patrol especially stub class or new articles. If I am granted rollback rights,I can make this process better and I can also revert my own edits.Suri 100 (talk) 03:19, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Make sure you've read WP:VANDALISM if you haven't already, so that you can distinguish deliberate vandalism from good faith but unconstructive edits. Feezo (send a signal | watch the sky) 03:28, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your immediate response very much!!. Suri 100 (talk) 03:37, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am a recent changes patroller and a frustrated on too. Every time I go to revert clear vandalism it is already reverted by users using Huggle. When I tried to use Huggle it said I need rollback. I have scanned WP:VANDALISM and I do promise to read it carefully in the morning before I begin to use Huggle. Thank you.mauchoeagle 04:21, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am mostly using AWB now, while doing changes I see vandalism but I don't have any tool to respond to it. Tried using Huggle but do not have the Rollback rights. Hence the need was felt. [[++@adikka (talk) 04:51, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can I use rollback rights again after a gap of 3 months for stooping deliberate vandalism.? . Shlok talk . 11:52, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not done as Rollback was previously removed from your account after you used it to edit-war. I suggest you discuss this with the administrator concerned in the first instance. —  Tivedshambo  (t/c) 12:01, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Karl 334

I have been reverting vandalism on the DOY articles for a while now, it definatly would be easier with the rollback tool. Thanks for your consideration. Karl 334 TALK to ME 14:04, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am doing pretty much only vandalism reverting, and this would help greatly. Also, If you talk to Banaticus He/she will say that I am currently taking some adoption courses, and passed the first vandalism course. And I learned today, as you see on my talk page, not to revert talk page blanking unless the person is blocked and trying to hide that. Like if someone gets blocked and removes that tag within 15 minutes it is not OK, but it is if they are just removing old discussions, even though WP prefers archiving to blanking. VoteDemOut!  Not done: You've only made 11 edits in article space so far, which is not enough for us to determine whether you have got the hang of differentiating between vandalism and reverting good faith edits. Try WP:Twinkle for the time being, and re-request when you've reverted about a hundred or so cases of vandalism. —  Tivedshambo  (t/c) 18:00, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jsharpminor

First, I'm seeing a lot of vandalism and rolling it back. Second, I'd like to be able to use Huggle!! Jsharpminor (talk) 22:05, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, i don't particularly see many bad edits, but when i do it would be better to have the rollback function rather than to rewrite the section vandalised.

I hope you accept my request for this function as my edit history is growing and the only trouble that i can really see was being called a vandal myself twice in the past for good faith edits that weren't vandalism. I would also understand because of this if those edits were used against me to deny me rollback but it would still be nice to get a reason why. Thanks Jenova20 14:53, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done. You do know that you can revert edits without rollback, right? However, I see no real reason not to grant the request. Feezo (send a signal | watch the sky) 20:31, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Adamrce

I mostly review edits and make small changes on articles; however, it would be nice to have this feature against insisting vandalism edits. Thanks AdvertAdam talk 05:26, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't want to discourage you. I don't see even one vandalism revert in your contributions. Would you want to try out reverting a few vandalism edits using, say, Twinkle, and reapply in a week or so? Believe me, it would help. Also, in the meanwhile, it'll be nice if you go through details on what constitutes vandalism and what does not. Thanks. Wifione ....... Leave a message 06:14, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, sounds good! I use to let the admins deal with them AdvertAdam talk 06:39, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
