John W. Ross was the first licensed architect in Grand Forks, North Dakota.[1] He designed numerous buildings that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. His works include:

John W. Ross was an architect in Davenport, Iowa. "John Ross came to Davenport in 1874. In addition to the City Hall, he is noted for his design of the Fire King Station (Hose Station No. 1) on Perry Street, and the 1888 supervision of the Scott County Courthouse, following the death of the building’s original architect, John C. Cochrane."[2]
