Half Note Records
Half Note Records is a jazz record label founded by the Blue Note Jazz Club in 1998. Although initially it only released live recordings from the club, the label has since expanded its scope by releasing studio albums as well.[1]
The label has garnered critical acclaim for many of its releases. Paquito D'Rivera's album Live from the Blue Note won a Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album in 2001. Several other releases have received Grammy nominations, including Conrad Herwig's Another Kind of Blue: The Latin Side of Miles Davis and Gil Goldstein's Under Rousseau's Moon.[2]
The label has also released albums by Charles Tolliver, Omar Sosa, McCoy Tyner, Francisco Mela, Grady Tate, Kenny Werner, Odean Pope, Will Calhoun, Mary Stallings, James Carter, and Tony Vacca.
