What follows is the list of billionaires, in US dollars, worldwide for 2006 by Forbes, not including heads of state whose wealth is tied to their position (see list of heads of government and state by net worth). This year there are 793 billionaires from 49 countries, with more than half being in the United States and Germany. There is an influx of billionaires from Russia, India, and Brazil due to the growth in those countries.
