Evidence submitted by Dougweller
[edit]

IP started editing after Marburg72 'retired' and was given the RTV. This was after Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Marburg72 and an outburst against other editors on his talk page, which led to a short block. The commonality of articles edited and the outburst against myself and other editors on the IP's talk page are also clear evidence that this is a sock. He is now adding pointy cite tags, eg in the lead where the references are clearly in the article, which is the reason I am bringing this case. A 'vanished' editor should not be editing using a sock.

Contribution history to Walam Olum article and talk page make it clear that 71.81.36.249 is Marburg72 (this includes links added to Talk:Mount Pisgah (North Carolina) by 71.81.36.249, a link to a page by someone whose other pages were frequently added by Marburg72. 68.225.74.35 (talk · contribs) also seems to be an old IP used by Marburg72. Note that Marburg72 has not edited since exercising the right to vanish during Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Marburg72 but he clearly has continued editing. The rtv template was at one time removed from his talk page but restored by 166.137.8.38 (talk · contribs). Dougweller (talk) 06:44, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A user cannot "vanish" and then "unvanish", "un-unvanish", etc.; one you "vanish", you don't come back. Consequently, Marburg72 has been indefinitely blocked, and both 71.81.32.0/20 and 166.137.8.0/21 have been blocked 1 month apiece. Moreover, User talk:Marburg72 has been indefinitely semi-protected. –MuZemike 22:20, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
