Christian Appy

Christian Gerard Appy (born April 5, 1955) is the author of two novels on American History. His latest book is Patriots: The Vietnam War Remembered from All Sides.

Biography

Christian was born in Athens, Georgia. In 1964, when he was 9 years of age, the Appy family moved to Westport, Connecticut. This is where Chris, as many people call him, began his attendance of Staples High School, where he graduated in 1973. Appy was in the Amherst College Class of 1977. Later, he moved on to attain a Ph.D at Harvard University. Chris became a professor of U.S. history at Harvard, then he began teaching the same subject at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is currently teaching at UMASS Amherst.[1] He is married to Katherine Appy, and has 2 children and 3 step children. Chris and his family live in Amherst, Massachusetts.
