Prince Louis of Bourbon, Duke of Burgundy (Template:Lang-es, born 28 May 2010) is the elder son of Prince Louis, Duke of Anjou, Legitimist claimant to the throne of France. Louis is first in line in the Legitimist line of succession to the French throne, preceding his younger twin brother, Alphonse, Duke of Berry.

Biography

Louis was born in New York City, the second child and elder twin son of Prince Louis, Duke of Anjou, and his wife, Marie Marguerite. Louis was born at 9:33am, preceding his younger brother by a minute. At birth, he weighed 3.34 kg (7.4 lb) and measured 51 cm (20.7 ins).[1]

Louis and his brother were christened in the Vatican in a private ceremony on 5 September 2010. His godparents are his father's aunt, Arancha Martínez-Bordiú and Francisco Javier d'Agostino Casado.

Louis is a member of the House of Bourbon, a sub-branch of the House of Capet and of the Robertians.

Louis' patriline is the line from which he is descended father to son. It follows the Kings of Spain, the Kings of France, the Dukes of Bourbon and before them, again the Kings of France. The line can be traced back more than 1,400 years and is one of the oldest in Europe.
