Antonia "Toya" Johnson (born October 26, 1983) is an American reality television personality. She is best known as the ex-wife of Lil Wayne. Since their break up she has been raising their daughter Reginae. Johnson is coming out with a book called Priceless Inspirations,[1] has her own boutique called G.A.R.B. ,[2] and is starring in her own reality show on BET called Toya: A Family Affair.[3]

Early life

Antonia "Toya" Johnson-Wright was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is the 2nd child of Anita Johnson and Walter Andrews.All together there was 6 children. Her mother was on drugs so as a child she was moved from relative to relative. That made her feel she had no sense of belonging until she met her childhood sweetheart Lil Wayne.[4]

Relationship with Lil Wayne

Toya and rapper Lil Wayne met when they were younger in New Orleans, Louisiana. She became pregnant with their daughter at the age of 14. Both parents being unemployed, the pregnancy quickly became a struggle. Lil Wayne ultimately chose to fully pursue his rap career with Cash Money Records in order to support his child. On November 29, 1998, at the age of 15, Toya gave birth to their daughter Reginae Djuan Carter.[4] Years later, upon Lil Wayne achieving stardom, he married Toya on Valentine's Day 2004. In January 2006, however, after almost two years of marriage, the couple divorced, citing her inability to cope with his lifestyle, most specifically his career keeping him away from home for long periods of time. Despite being divorced, the two have remained good friends and continue to raise their daughter together.[5]

Tiny and Toya

In 2009, Toya and one of her best friends Tiny from the R&B group Xscape starred on a reality show on BET called Tiny and Toya. They both have kids with celebrities, they’re rich, and they currently live in Atlanta. So B.E.T. felt that was the perfect concoction for a reality show, and they were right. There has been two seasons showing all the ups and downs they have been going through. Tiny shows that raising her three kids, two of them which are by rapper T.I., is not as easy as it looks. Toya shows raising her daughter Reginae and helping her daughter with her upcoming success. They were also both dealing with family issues. Tiny's father was suffering from the affects of Alzheimer disease,and Toya was dealing with her mother's drug addiction. The show was very successful, attracting three million viewers.[4] In April,2009, Toya started dating The host of the BET show, The Deal. And Founder of HiTz COMMITTEE ENTERTAINMENT, Mickey "Memphitz" Wright. On August 18,2010 They announced Their engagement.

On June 18, 2011 Toya and Mickey "Memphitz" Wright were married in a beautiful wedding in Atlanta. The wedding was attended by rapper RaSheeda, Kandi, Nivea, Lauren London, and Tamar Braxton.

Personal career

After the last season of Tiny and Toya Toya pursued writing a book, opening her own boutique, and starring in her own reality show,Toya: A Family Affair.The book is entitled Priceless Inspiration, and is supposed to be in stores April 16, 2011.It's about all the struggles she has been through in her life, and how she wants to inspire other teens girls not to take some of the paths she has taken.[1] Toya's boutique,G.A.R.B., is located on Magazine Street in New Orleans, LA. The store opened October 23, 2010, and only sells women’s clothing. Toya mentioned that the clothes are high quality at an affordable price. She also shares the business with R&BSinger Kandi Burruss and rapper [[Rasheeda]. There is a section in the store called Toya's Closet,so if you are a fan of Toya's personal style you can purchase pre-owned and new pieces directly from her wardrobe.[2] On April 12, 2011 her own reality show on BET called Toya: A Family Affair this was a show of her life when she tried to help all of her family members
