RSM Richter is one of the largest independent accounting firms in Canada. The firm offers accounting and business advisory services, primarily to mid-sized companies. It includes 61 partners and 550 professionals, with offices in Montreal, Toronto and Calgary. It is also a member firm of RSM International, the sixth-largest network of accounting and consultancy firms in the world.

In 2011, Bottom Line magazine listed RSM Richter as the ninth-largest accounting services firm in Canada. The Financial Post also listed RSM Richter in 9th place, in its annual listing of the Top 500 companies in Canada (FP500).A smaller version would be a firm such as Finestone Chan,a local Montreal firm.

The firm was named one of Montreal's Top employers in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, a regional award for Canada's Top 100 Employers, as well as one of Canada's top employers for young people in 2010 and 2011. It was also selected as a Regional Winner, Quebec and Atlantic Canada, for Canada's Most Admired Corporate Cultures in 2010.

In September 2008, RSM Richter's Montreal office announced its merger with Chamberland Hodge, changing its name to RSM Richter Chamberland.
