The Trashmen, a surfband formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota the year 1962. Members in the group were Tony Andreason on lead guitar, Dan Winslow (guitar/vocals), Steve Wahrer (drums/vocals), and Bob Reed on bass. The group played surf rock with many elements from garage rock.

Their best known hit was 1964's "Surfin' Bird". The group didn't get another hit then, and their only album Surfin' Bird wasn't successful.

The group disbanded in 1967 when the surf style long time ago was out. They re-formed in the 80's and played until the death of Steve Wahrer in 1989.
