Carl Beech is a British Baptist minister and General Secretary of Christian Vision for Men.[1]
Having had a childhood ambition to join the armed forces, he was converted to Christianity at the age of 18, believing that God was calling him to fight a different sort of battle. After studying a degree in engineering he worked variously as a financial consultant, church planter, youth worker, and senior pastor of a large multi-congregational church. He now heads up Christian Vision for Men,[2] a national movement focused on evangelism to men and equipping the church for the task.
He is a regular speaker at Christian conferences in the UK such as New Wine and Spring Harvest, and is currently involved in pioneering some groundbreaking evangelistic projects involving media and the web. He is founder of website codelife,[3] and the author of Spadework, Groundbreaker and Real Men, Real God, Real Spirit.
Beech sits on the Councils of the Evangelical Alliance,[4] student movement Fusion (student movement)[5] and Restored, an international Christian alliance working to transform relationships and end violence against women.[6] He is a contributor to Sorted magazine (motto: "for men, for life!").[7]
Carl enjoys sporting challenges and in 2008 cycled from Land's End to John o' Groats, Calais to Nice and the length of Italy – all in under 9 days.[8] In 2010 he ran the London Marathon.[2]
In February 2008, Carl was interviewed by Christianity Magazine in an article called "No man's land" and it was also featured on video on Premier.TV. The article was followed up in the next issue with an article entitled "A man's world".[9]
