Mark Segal

Mark Allan Segal (b. 1953[1]) was a gay activist.[2]

He was the founder of Gay Raiders, a Philadelphia based activism group, and the Philadelphia Gay News.[3] In 1975 he went on a hunger strike in favor of a bill to guarantee equal rights.[4] In 1988 he had a televised debate with a Philadelphia city councilman, Francis Rafferty, about Gay Pride Month.[5]

He was a friend of Barbara Gittings.[6]
