The West Coast Line is a railway serving the west coast of Malaysia. The line links Padang Besar on the Malaysia–Thailand border in Perlis. There, it connects with the State Railway of Thailand to Singapore via Butterworth, Penang for connections to Penang and the capital of Kuala Lumpur.

History

The first railway line in Malaya linking Taiping to Port Weld was opened officially on 1 June 1885.
