Travis Fleetwood (born November 20, 1988), known as Organik, is an underground Canadian hip hop artist and rapper. He is also the founder and part-owner of King of the Dot[2], a battle rap league based in Toronto, Ontario.
Organik has won several notable battle rap competitions, including BET's 2006 and 2008 “Canadian Spring Bling” and “Battle Of The Headz”. He is a three time champion of ChangePromotion’s Battle King Events and also won Toronto’s “Proud2BEhBattleMC” event three times.[3]
In 2011, Organik was a judge on the Ultimate MC TV show alongside with Royce da 5'9", Sean Price, Planet Asia, and Pharoahe Monch[4].
Organik started King of the Dot in 2008. Notably, he has been credited with developing battle rap talent[5] as the founder, CEO, Toronto and host[6] of King of the Dot. He is also a battle rap emcee [7][7]
Organik has organized numerous battle rap events in Toronto. On November 5, 2011, he organized Flatline, which featured a battle between rappers Dizaster and DNA. Organik co-hosted this event with Canadian hip hop artist Drake, who put up $3000 of his own money to be awarded to the winner of the battle.[8] [9] Organik promotes battle rap as a sport, encouraging emcees to allow themselves to be made fun of [10] . He was influenced by Wu-Tang Clan and Big L.[11]
Organik lives in Toronto, and is employed as a steel worker.[12]
