Alexx Calise is an American guitarist,singer and song writer[1]. She is best known for her solo work and her other musical project Sound Of Cancer.

Biography

Alexx Calise grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. An avid writer, she began playing the guitar at age 11 to emulate her father, who is also a musician . Calise began pursuing her professional music career at the age of 14 [2].

She now resides in Los Angeles, California and has worked with several high profile musicians. Calise has appeared in several national TV commercials and shows including the Discovery Channel documentary, "The Science of Sex Appeal" and Disney's "Science of Imagineering" DVD series. Her music has appeared in several television shows and national ad campaigns (One Tree Hill, Next, Audrina, 10 on Top and Tough Love), she was featured on Boston's #1 Hit Station, Kiss 108 as a "hot up-and-coming indie artist," and her song, "Release Me" was chosen as the title track theme for the upcoming film, "LA I Hate You", starring William Forsythe (actor), Malcolm McDowell and Deedee Pfieffer. She also lent her voice to a Coachella music festival short (music written by Matt O'Malley of human) directed by Sam O'Hare.

Calise just released the debut album from her other project, Sound of Cancer (which also features drummer/songwriter, Dennis Morehouse of Marc Ford and Gilby Clarke fame). She is currently writing and recording her 3rd solo album,

Current Events

Calise just released a music video for her song "Cry", which also features Maddie Ziegler of Lifetime's Dance Moms. "Cry" appeared on several episodes of Lifetime's "Dance Moms", and in an episode of the VH1 reality show, "Audrina". Calise is now recording her 3rd solo record, which promises to be in the "roots rock" vein. She is also actively pursuing her other music project with Dennis Morehouse, called Sound of Cancer.

Alexx Calise has been interviewed by Guitar Player Magazine, Blender Magazine, Guitar World, Louis Velazquez of UCW Radio,[3] ,Outloud Multimedia, Hard Drivin' Radio, Paul and Young Ron of Big 106 FM, Empowerment4women.com, Broward New Times, Sun-Sentinel, Miami Community News, Vivian Clement for the nationally distributed how-to/method book, "How to Succeed as a Female Musician" (which also featured such notable musicians as Lisa Loeb and The Donnas), and more.

Charity work

Calise is involved with the Wear Your Music Foundation, an organization that produces jewelry from high profile artists' guitar strings. All sales from Alexx's bracelets are donated to the Brain Trauma Foundation [4].
