Ira Gamerman is an American playwright, musician,[1] actor, and journalist[2] from Baltimore, Maryland. His plays have received readings and productions all over the USA and Australia at such prestigious venues as the Last Frontier Theatre Conference,[3] the Kennedy Center,[4] the Great Plains Theatre Conference,[5] The DC Source Festival,[6] World Interplay, and Collaboraction. Ira Gamerman's plays have received positive reviews from the Chicago Sun-Times[7] The Baltimore Sun,[8] Time Out Chicago,[9][10] City Paper,[11] and Broadwayworld.com. [12]
Gamerman was voted "Best Playwright" in City Paper's 2006 Best Of Baltimore Awards[13] and noted as one of "15 Young Baltimore Theatre Artists to Watch" by Broadwayworld.com.[14]
Gamerman has appeared in Chicago Magazine[15] and been interviewed by Broadwayworld.com.[16][17]
His short play "Dated: A Cautionary Tale For Facebook Users" was nominated for a 2009 New York Innovative Theater Award for best short play.
