Ying Bu (? - 196 BC), A former criminal whom later become a general for the Chu and later the Han in Chu-Han Contention.
He begun his career as a bandit warlord when Chen Sheng and Wu Guang rebelled against the Qin.
Xiang Yu personally recruited him after witnessing his bravery in battle during his early wars against the Qin state during the 5 year war against Han. Liu Bang and his adviser Chen Ping knew that to defeat Xiang Yu, they need to created discontent among Xiang Yu's men (among those whom he later tricked was Fan Zeng), fearing for his life Ying Bu defected to Liu Bang after Xiang Yu starting to mistrust his men. He also personally executed the Emperor Yi of Chu under Xiang Yu orders. He was noted to have a prison tattoo on his face after breaking one of Qin's harsh law during his youth.
After the Chu-Han contention, he was among those executed by Liu Bang in suspicion of rebellion. [zh:英布]]
