New World Department Store China Limited (SEHK825) is a Hong Kong-based company engaged in department store operation in China. It is a subsidiary of New World Development. It has self-owned stores and managed stores in Hong Kong and Mainland China, and operates under two brands: "New World" (Chinese: 新世界) and "Ba Li Chun Tian" (literally "Paris Spring")(Chinese: 巴黎春天). Its company chairman is Henry Cheng, the son of the Hong Kong billionaire, Cheng Yu-tung.[1] It was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with IPO price of HK$5.8 per share.[2]

New World Department Store China operates 32 self-owned and 5 managed stores in 17 China cities. The company also launched e-shopping platform in 2011.

Company’s financial performance reflects stable growth over the years. Recent financial year 2011 ended on June 2011 brought revenue increase by 46.8% year over year to CNY 2,479.5 million. The net income in 2011 financial year boosted 48.1% year over year and reached CNY 855.6 million. Most significant contribution to these numbers was made by sales increase in cosmetics and ladieswear segments.[3]
