almost-unblocked IP address is a public high school

I believe that tomorrow the block on 69.74.19.226 will expire. That is the external IP address for the student-accessible segment of the data network for a public high school (see the vandalism for the school itself and other bias in the vandalism done if you want to verify this).

As an IT admin for that location I can both assure you that the vandalism will continue and that we will be keeping that IP address for at least the next year. I'd recommend a preemptive long-term reblock, but then, I don't know the 'pedia policies on single IPs that cover thousands of users. Since you're the last admin that blocked it, I figured it would be best to just give you this info for you admins to make any decisions on the matter. Thanks for keeping wikipedia strong and keep up the great work.

Hi, thanks for the information. If vandalism persists, the IP address will likely be blocked again for a fair amount of time. RexNL 18:50, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Problematic IP address

Hi,

User:203.200.95.130 has been engaging in vandalism (actually propoganda and use as soapbox) as seen here. When I went to post the {{test1}} template, I saw that it was already warned by you. Please do what is best for such a situation. -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 08:54, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding User 65.223.34.118. I note that your message to this user on 15 March 2006 (UTC) was a final warning regarding spam. They have been at it again today (10th April). I've reverted that batch of spam and left a note on their talk page. I guess a month *is* a while ago but just in case they try again, or you're in the appropriate mood, treat this as a yellow alert. — Graibeard (talk) 07:48, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the notification. I will keep an eye on this user, and block him if necessary. RexNL 19:30, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thank you! Sure --Aminz 09:34, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Christianity

Why did you revert my edits without any edit summary or participation on the talk page? 206.61.48.22 18:26, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because I consider it vandalism. RexNL 18:29, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tesla

Why the fuq are you reverting the Tesla page? The serbian thing is in the next paragraph! The talk page also covers this. 204.56.7.1 20:56, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You broke the first sentence of the article (has been fixed now). RexNL 20:57, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok ... I was just looking at that (a and an) .... thank you ....204.56.7.1 20:58, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What's with the excessive block length on this school IP? WP:BP specifically limits blocks on these accounts to 24 hours, though in cases with an idiot coming back the same time every day, 31 hours might be more appropriate. —BorgHunter ubx (talk) 12:19, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On further review, add 206.210.134.9 (talkcontribspage movesblock userblock log) to that list. —BorgHunter ubx (talk) 12:21, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Since these school IPs have caused a considerable amount of vandalism over the last few months, I think a longer block is appropriate here. As far as I know, 24 hours is not the maximum block time for these IPs, and I can also not find it on WP:BP. RexNL 13:35, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AOL IPs

Just for the record, these IPs are AOL's web proxies, used by thousands of people, and it is unlikely that the original vadal saw your message, and likely that someone who is not the vandal (namely, me) did see the message. 207.200.116.132 17:12, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He is Risen!

Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
who did once upon the cross, Alleluia!
suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!

Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!
who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!
sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia!

But the pains which he endured, Alleluia!
our salvation have procured, Alleluia!
now above the sky he's King, Alleluia!

where the angels ever sing. Alleluia!

For your instant reverting of vandalism. How do you do it so fast? Adam1213 Talk + 01:54, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the award! Much appreciated. I revert fast because I have a good (self-made) tool for monitoring the recent changes. RexNL 01:57, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Can I have a copy of your tool, its way to fast for anything else. pgkbot (in #vandalism-en-wp) detects vandalism large edit mostly, next you instantly! --Adam1213 Talk + 02:09, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Currently it's not suitable to be published yet. I wrote the tool to suit my personal needs, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. But maybe in the future... :-) RexNL 02:11, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

You appear to be doing RC patrol right now as well. Cheers. — Ilyanep (Talk) 02:06, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, how do you know? ;-) Have a nice evening. RexNL 02:07, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, your reverts seem to be a majority of the reverts occurring now :P — Ilyanep (Talk) 02:17, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

IP 205.188.116.134

Hi - I see where you previously have blocked IP 205.188.116.134. Just as an FYI, this morning I reverted another vandalism act from this IP. I'm marking the account, but they may need it again. Stude62 12:39, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for the information. It is a shared IP address, which makes it harder to deal with. If the address is blocked, many legitimate users may be affected at the same time. Please see WP:AOL for further information. Thanks again, RexNL 14:21, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ansalon (MUD)

Sorry RexNL,

I had seen the other listing under MU* Games and was entering our own, then started linking relevant words. Then some strange message pops up that the article is going to be deleted. I thought it was an error.

When I looked at the articles log in the deletion area, it didn't show that listing. So I assumed it was an error.

Is there something in particular that I should do differently to list the game as a resource?

I noted 69 other MUDs listed.

Hi, I see the page has been deleted because of copyright infringements. RexNL 20:55, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ansalon (MUD)

Um, I own the page I copied it from? I grant permission for myself to post it again here?

  • boggle*
It was copied directly from http://www.ansalonmud.com/ . If you have evidence that you're the owner of the site, please contact the person who deleted the page (Obli). Otherwise, I would discourage you to repost the content, as it will be quickly deleted again. RexNL 21:02, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ansalon (MUD)

Did that RexNL

"I posted up some links and information on building MUDs along with the listing for my own MUD Ansalonmud.com...

All of my changes and listed article were promptly deleted...

You can contact me at zivilyn@ansalonmud.com or go to ansalonmud.com and click on the contact button to verify I am myself.

This is rather frustrating, we have a 10 year old mud game that is purely DragonLance and helps promote DragonLance, yet our listing is removed within minutes of posting... Along with 5 other links that were beneficial to MUD builders and people looking for a DragonLance mud.

Any way to avoid this headache?"

I'd ask that last question to you as well, is there a way to put up some kind of verification on postings? It would seem to discourage many places from adding information if that information is promptly removed with no link to dispute it's ownership. I DID check the links it told me to for pages slated for removal, nothing there. (Again, that's why I assumed it was an error).

Perhaps a button to cite the source?

delete or redirect a template

hey can you delete or redirect this template about Dish Network. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Dish_Network

Its not needed since there is already Dish Network page Dish Network

I would do it myself but it says I'm not allowed to. Why?

Hi, a template is something else than an article. Maybe you should read Help:Template. Thanks, RexNL 23:01, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bias

Wondering why adding to an article which is bias is vandalism, and when using talk page, comments are deleted?
