The Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA) is a proposed New York law which prohibits discrimination of any kind by public or private institutions on the basis of gender expression or identity. It was first introduced into the Assembly in 2008 and has repeatedly been passed five times in that chamber while failing to pass in the State Senate. It is promoted as a priority of Empire State Pride Agenda, which previously promoted the SONDA law, which was enacted into law in 2003.
