Greenfields School is an Applied Scholastics and Independent Schools Association[2] private school on the edge of the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, England. It is unique as being the only Study Tech-based private school of its kind in the area.<ref>About Greenfields Greenfields is a non-denominational, ISA approved independent school for girls and boys ages 2 to 18 located in the heart of the Ashdown Forest, East Sussex. It offers education up to and including A Levels, with special programmes in English-as-a-Second-Language and a Summer School for junior and senior students. Greenfields currently has around 100 students and 23 staff. There are 30 boarders from around the world. Greenfields uses study methods called “Study Technology” which first isolates the barriers preventing a child from learning, and then provides precise tools to deal with them. There is a high level of open communication between students and staff that helps to prevent failure, bullying or drugs. Every student is individually programmed and targeted to ensure each one achieves the success they are capable of. The classes are small and a full curriculum, provides core subjects and peripheral studies up available up to GCSE and Advanced Levels. A “qualifications” department exists for checking that students have fully understood each step of their studies, and also provides extra help for any student having any trouble in class. There is also an “ethics” department that helps to resolve any personal problems the student may have. The pre-school has Montessori trained staff who use Montessori materials to ensure the best foundation for the rest of a student’s education. Entry is by tests for literacy and numeracy. There is a pre-entry section for those who need a short programme to catch up and be ready to join their correct class. Extensive building work that started in 2002 has modernised the whole site and created new boarding bedrooms, new science labs, art room, maths and English purpose-built rooms and a large study room/library. Trains take under an hour from London to East Grinstead, which is a ten minute car ride from the school. Gatwick Airport is a twenty minute car ride away.
